Blind Flanges — Secure Piping Closure | High Integrity & Pressure Resistance
Blind Flanges are solid discs used to seal or close the end of a piping system, valve, or pressure vessel opening. Unlike other flanges, blind flanges have no bore, making them the ideal solution for temporary or permanent termination of a pipeline while still allowing easy access for inspection, pressure testing, or future extensions.
Standards & Pressure Ratings
Blind flanges are manufactured to international standards to ensure dimensional compatibility and reliable performance:
- ASME B16.5 — Class 150, 300, 600, 900, 1500, and 2500
- DIN / EN Standards — PN6 to PN40
- Available in facing types such as Raised Face (RF), Flat Face (FF), and Ring-Type Joint (RTJ) depending on the application
Key Features
- Leak-Tight Seal — Ensures a strong and secure closure for pipes and pressure vessels.
- Ideal for Maintenance & Testing — Easy to install and remove, allowing inspection and hydrostatic pressure testing without dismantling the line.
- High Pressure Resistance — Suitable for both low- and high-pressure systems due to solid construction.
- Standardized Dimensions — Fully compatible with ASME, DIN, and EN companion flanges.
- Material Versatility — Available in carbon steel, stainless steel, and special alloys for a range of environments.
Typical Dimensions
- Size Range: ½” to 24” (DN15–DN600) and above
- Pressure Ratings: ASME Class 150 to 2500 / DIN PN6 to PN40
- Facing Options: RF, FF, RTJ
- Drilling: Standardized bolt holes to match companion flanges
Applications
- Oil & Gas pipelines
- Petrochemical and chemical plants
- Power generation systems
- Water treatment and distribution lines
- Shipbuilding, fire protection, and pressure vessel manufacturing
